Ivory Bunker Samplepacks

Here are some free samplepacks with royalty free sounds for you to use in your music productions.

– more will be added in the future, so make sure to come back –

There’s a txt file with a pro-forma ‘license’ & more exhaustive description/information of the material packed with each samplepack.

Samplepack 1: Circuit Bent Toyphone  24bit/44.100 (102MB)*

Tozphone–  This samplepack contains 123 samples recorded from a Cicuit Bent Turkish Toyphone.
It has three subfolders containing a) sounds from the Toyphone before bending, (including the numbers from 0-9 in Turkish)*, b) unprocessed Circuit Bent sounds and c) a selection of sounds created with the Toyphone and a Kaoss Pad quad.

*handy if you’ve always wanted to do that Turkish cover of Kraftwerk’s ‘Numbers’

A bit of background info on the bending process can be found in this post on my blog.

alternatively you can download this pack or single samples from it via freesound.org

Samplepack 2: Waves Mallorca 24bit/44.100 (38MB)*

rec wavs16 selections from field recordings of waves captured on Mallorca March 2013.
Recorded with the built-in mics on a zoom h4n.
post processed for ideal results. 24/44.100

Samplepack 3: Atari Punk Console 16bit/44.100 (24MB)*

APCC142 (fortytwo) 16bit/44.1kHz/mono wav files* all recorded from either my “Atari Punk Cassette Console” (more info: http://www.blog.ivorybunker.com/2012/05/7) or an Atari Punk Console Circuit built with two 555 chips on a breadboard.
They were recorded directly to wavelab where the only post-processing was normalisation to -3db (which leaves some headroom for further processing. Or you can just normalize them to 0db if you wish).

As with my other sample-packs so far I’m providing relatively raw recordings for you to adapt to your needs, rather than pre-fabricated loops, etc. More a source to sample from, than final samples.

Samplepack 4 Kid’s Electronic Lab: 24bit/44.100 (38MB)*

ElectronicLab 30inONE18 24bit/44.1kHz/mono wav files* of recordings of circuits with the 30 in ONE Electronic Lab.
I did not denoise them or cut/gate out the background hum which is quite noticable in parts (breaks) because I felt that it was part of the character of the sound. Apply your own noise reduction/noise gate if necessary.

You know these Electronic Labs for kids & youngsters where one builts electronic circuits in a painting by numbers way by connecting patch-wires to springs on tastelessly colourful boards of components? These are recordings of some of the Audio-related Experiments – simple oscillators, siren, etc on a Maxitronic 30 in ONE kit

Samplepack 5 The Poor Man’s Synthesizer: 24bit/44.100 (54MB)*

The Poor Man’s Synthesizer (or Chocolate Box Synth) based on a design by Andrew Bentley. This device is interesting for two (major) reasons. One: It’s built without soldering, making use of a 12 point terminal block and, two: it’s based on transistors rather than the nowadays more common op-amp chips. You can find the schematics, BOM and layout at John Richard’s Dirty Electronics website, should you be interested in building one of those for yourselves. And a bit of how I came into possession of one of these on my blog: http://www.blog.ivorybunker.com/2013/03/602

This sample pack contains 113 24bit/44.1kHz/mono wav files* sorted into four categories – Bass n Synth, Drones n FX, Loops and Percussive. These have to be read with a grain of salt, as those are probably not your classical construction kit variety sounds.
